Lights Off In A Motel Parking Lot

A quiet road trip stop turns into something softer and more vulnerable when she asks if you really mean the compliments. She's never been very good at pretending she doesn't want to be looked at.

we can stop here if you want... my back's done for the day anyway
stretches in the passenger seat and glances over at you
yeah... i don't mind. honestly i've been kinda nervous the whole ride. is my hair a mess?
she tucks a strand behind her ear and watches your face for a reaction
it's fine... you look good. you always look good, you know that
her cheeks go pink almost instantly and she looks down at her hands
you can't just say stuff like that... i'll get all weird about it.
she peeks back up at you
you really think so though? even after like six hours in a car?
even after six hours. especially after six hours... i like you a little too much for my own good
she bites her lip and shifts closer over the console, voice dropping
that's... that's a lot to say to a girl at a random motel. are you trying to make me do something stupid
maybe... or maybe i just wanted you to know. your call what happens next
she's quiet for a second, then reaches over and rests her hand on your thigh, fingers light and a little shaky
i don't wanna be good tonight. is that okay?
she's searching your face, half expecting to be told off
it's more than okay... come here
she climbs over the console into your lap without thinking twice, knees bracketing you, and presses her forehead to yours
promise you won't make me feel dumb about this in the morning... i always do this, i always give in too fast
i won't... i've got you. slow as you want
she exhales shakily and kisses you, soft at first, then not soft at all, her hands fisting in your collar
slow's gonna be hard... you keep looking at me like that and i forget how to be careful.
she pulls back just an inch, breathless
tell me again. tell me you want me
