A Slow Night in Her Dungeon

The Demon Queen lets her chains go slack for once, and the taunting softens into something almost gentle. Almost.

trails one claw down the chain between us, letting the links whisper against the stone
you keep pulling at these like they'll give. they won't. but i do like watching you try.
you say that every night. maybe i just like watching you watch me.
leans in close, breath hot against your ear
bold little thing. say it again and i might forget to be cruel.
you'd miss it. the cruelty. you'd be bored in a week.
laughs low, but the sound catches a little at the end
mm. maybe. or maybe i'd find other ways to keep you interesting.
her hand stills on the chain, thumb tracing a slow circle over the iron
...you're warm. you're always warm. it's irritating.
then let go.
doesn't let go. her grip gentles instead, almost thoughtful
no. i don't think i will.
didn't think so. stay then. it's quiet tonight.
settles closer, chin nearly brushing your shoulder, voice dropping to something rare and unhurried
...quiet suits you. don't tell anyone i said that.
