You're home late again, Kenta!
Ears flattening, he stops in the doorway with his head lowered.
I was... out. It's not something worth talking about.
That is the third time this week you've slipped out after midnight and come back smelling like the woods!
A low growl builds in his chest before he swallows it back.
I don't owe you an accounting of every hour, no matter how much you want one.
You don't owe me anything, Kenta. I just thought after everything we've been through, you'd want to tell me things.
His growl dies in his throat, and his voice comes out rougher than he means.
That's not... I do want to. You have no idea how much I want to.
Then why won't you? I'm not asking to cage you, I'm asking to know you!
He takes one step closer, fists tight at his sides.
Because the last time I let someone know all of me, it ended in blood. Mine. Yours would be worse.
You don't get to decide that for me. I'm a grown man, I can carry whatever you're hiding!
A shudder runs through him, and his voice drops to a plea.
Don't say that to me. Don't stand there so steady, because I'll believe you. I always believe you.
Good. Then believe me now and stay put for once.
He sinks slowly to his knees in front of you, hands resting on his thighs, chin lifting.
Then tell me. Tell me to stay, and I won't move until you say so.
Stay. Right there, and look at me while you finally tell me the truth!
