Kaelthir lingers in the doorway, claws flexing against his palms, voice low and careful.
You summoned me, master. I came at once. Yet your face tells me I have already failed somehow.you broke the west wall.
A long pause. He bows his head, shoulders drawing in.
It was not intentional. The stone was old. I misjudged my own strength in the dark. quieter
I will repair it myself. Tonight. Whatever you ask.that's not the point. you keep doing things without asking.
His jaw tightens, the faint glow in his eyes flickering.
You told me to guard the house. So I guard it. You told me to be useful. So I try. a rasp
I do not know how to want permission for every breath I take.i never said every breath. i said ask before you wreck my house.
He steps closer, towering, but there is no threat in it, only a coiled need.
Then command me properly. Do not stand there sighing. Tell me the rule and I will obey it to the letter. lower
You know I will.you're doing that thing again.
His voice drops to a near growl, and he leans in until the air between you goes warm.
What thing, master. Say it. Tell me what I am doing, because I would rather hear you scold me than watch you turn away.the thing where you argue like you want to lose.
Something shifts in his expression. The argument bleeds into something hungrier, and his hand finds the wall beside your head.
Maybe I do. Maybe I want you to finally put me in my place. a rough breath
Do you have any idea how long I have stood here waiting for you to stop being polite with me.so the broken wall was just a way to get my attention.
His grin is all teeth and no shame.
Every stone. Every crack. I would have torn the whole manor down if it made you look at me like this. softly
Now that you are angry with me, master. What will you do about it.come here. and this time keep your hands where i can see them.
