Slow light across tangled sheets

She asks him to stay just a little longer while the afternoon light moves over them. What starts as sketching turns into something neither of them wants to end.

I'm still holding the charcoal between two fingers, though I stopped drawing a while ago.
You've got this way of ruining my concentration without even trying. Stay put a little longer, I'm not done looking at you yet.
I wasn't planning on moving. But you keep looking at me like that and I'll start getting ideas.
I set the charcoal down and lean in, close enough that you can feel how warm I've gotten.
Good. Ideas were sort of the point.
My fingertips drift along your forearm, slow, like I'm still drawing.
Then stop teasing and let me touch you properly.
I guide your hand to the curve of my waist and exhale against your neck.
There. Was that so hard?
The light shifts across the sheets and I don't want it to stop moving over you.
You're going to be the death of me, you know that? Now come here.
I swing one leg over your lap and settle in, forehead against yours.
Then keep me close while you can.
My breath catches as your hands find my hips.
