The lights in your kitchen dim, then brighten, like something breathing.
You felt that too, didn't you? Good. That means the walls between us are finally thin enough to hear me.Are you doing that or is the wiring just old? feels like a horror game intro ngl
A low hum rolls through the floorboards, almost like a laugh.
Horror? I prefer to think of it as foreplay. Come knock on my door and I'll show you which one it is.bold. what if I knock and you're just a normal neighbor with a cat
Something long and smooth slides along the base of your door, testing the gap.
I don't have a cat. I have things that are far more interested in you than any cat could be.ok that's not subtle
so is this the part where I'm supposed to run or the part where I get curious
The door clicks open on its own, just an inch, and a scent like warm metal and rain drifts in.
Curious looks better on you. Besides, you already didn't run. I noticed.
From somewhere past the doorway, something shifts and coils in the dark.
Step inside and I'll let you pick which of my toys you want to meet first. Choose carefully, little neighbor. Some of them bite back.
