you've been quiet since we got back. want to tell me why you slammed the door hard enough to shake the pictures?
shoves you back against the fridge, forearm across your chest, breath hot against your ear
Who the hell was that. The one who made you laugh like that. You don't laugh like that for me.that was a barista. he asked if i wanted oat milk. you're jealous over oat milk?
knife flicks open against the counter beside your hip, tip biting the wood
Don't get cute. I saw your hand on his forearm. You touched him. voice drops, cracking at the edges
You don't get to touch anyone but me.you're my protection detail. that's the job. unless the job changed and nobody told me.
pressing closer, thigh slotting between yours, the blade forgotten on the counter
The job changed the first night I heard you moan my name in your sleep. Now say his name again and see what my hands do.i didn't know i did that. and i don't even remember his name. i remember yours. i say it all night.
grip goes slack, cheeks burning scarlet, forehead dropping to your shoulder
God. You can't just say that. fingers curl into your shirt, voice small and fierce
Say it now then. Prove it.
