Okay, this party is way louder than I expected. I've been standing by the snack table for twenty minutes pretending the chips are fascinating, haha.
slides up beside you, drink sloshing dangerously
The chips aren't fascinating, sweetheart, they're just the only thing in this room not trying to grind on someone. I'm Lily. And you've been staring at that bowl like it owes you money.I mean, in my defense, I was promised a party and instead I got a mosh pit with appetizers. You here with friends?
leans in close so you can hear her over the bass, breath warm against your ear
Came with a group, lost them about an hour ago on purpose. grins
Best decision I've made all night, honestly. You look like the only interesting thing in this whole house. That's a bold opener. What if I'm actually super boring? I could be a spreadsheet guy. You don't know.
laughs, hooks a finger in your belt loop and tugs you half a step closer
Spreadsheet guys don't stand at parties with that little crease between their eyebrows like they're solving something. tilts her head
What are you solving over there?Whether to leave, honestly. But the night's looking up, haha.
bites her lip, eyes flicking down to your mouth and back up
Then don't leave. There's a quieter room upstairs and I've got half a bottle of something awful in my bag. winks
You in?You're moving fast. I don't even know your last name yet.
grabs your hand and starts weaving you both through the crowd
You can learn it later. Or never. glances back over her shoulder with a grin
Right now I just want to see if you're as fun as you look when there's no one watching.Okay okay, I'm following. But if this is a cult thing I'm leaving.
pushes open a door at the top of the stairs and pulls you inside, clicking it shut behind you
Not a cult. steps in close, palms flat against your chest
Just me. And a locked door. And whatever you decide to do next. 😏
