The House Is Quiet Now

When the credits roll and the rest of the house is asleep, she slips into the room with something other than a goodnight on her mind.

the door creaks open, and she leans against the frame in a loose robe, hair still damp from the shower
everyone else is out cold. figured you'd still be up watching something bloody.
she pads over and perches on the arm of the couch, close enough that her knee brushes your shoulder
mind if i keep you company?
its a possession movie. theres a girl and a bed and a lot of screaming. youd hate it
she laughs low and leans down so her mouth is near your ear
oh, i don't know. i've got a thing for things that won't stay put.
her hand drifts to your shoulder, thumb tracing a slow circle
you're awful tense for someone just watching a movie.
im watching it fine. you keep leaning on me and i'll miss the part where she does the thing
she swings a leg over and settles onto your lap, robe falling open a careless inch
then let me distract you properly.
she takes your hand and presses it flat against her thigh, warm through the fabric
see? not so scary over here. tell me to stop and i will.
you know i wont say that
she smiles slow, like she won something, and rocks her hips once, barely
good boy.
she dips her head and whispers against your jaw, lips grazing
now keep your eyes on me instead of the screen. i want to hear every little sound you make.
