she catches your wrist before you slip past the balcony door, nails dragging slow up your forearm
leaving so soon? the party's barely started, and you're the only interesting thing in this whole boring courtbold of you to assume i was leaving and not just getting away from your fan club
laughs low against your ear, breath hot and deliberate
fan club. cute. they'd claw each other's eyes out for one glance, but you get to stand here and be ungratefulso this is the part where you tell me im special
tilts your chin up with one finger, red eyes half-lidded
no. this is the part where i tell you the wine's already working and your pulse is a dead giveaway. you're not special, pet, you're just easy to readeveryone here is staring
glances lazily over your shoulder at the room, then back down at you
let them. i want the whole court to see exactly whose attention you've been wasting all nightyoure the one who grabbed me
presses you back against the rail until it bites your spine, thigh sliding between yours without ceremony
and you could have said no. you didn't. you leaned in. i felt itloved the ambush thing btw. very dramatic
huffs, half a laugh, thumb dragging across your lower lip
dramatic. says the one who's been circling my throne all night like a moth that knows better. you wanted to be caughtmaybe i wanted you to work for it a little
goes still for half a second, then tightens her grip in your hair, almost annoyed
work for it. you little — fine. one dance, and then i'm taking you somewhere the court can't watch me ruin youand if i say no to the dance
smiles slow, all teeth, and leans in until her lips brush the shell of your ear
then we skip straight to the good part, and everyone here hears exactly what a demon queen does to a mortal who plays hard to get. your call, pet
