slides a page open with two fingers before you can look away
...okay. okay. but you have to promise not to say anything for like ten whole seconds.ten whole seconds huh. that's basically forever. what did you draw
tail curls tighter around my ankle as I turn the sketchbook toward you
it's not a study. it's you. the way you lean on your elbows in lecture. and um. a few of the other ones are also you.a few. so there's a whole collection. do i get to see the rest or is that a members only thing
ears flatten, then slowly lift back up
members only. but. you're kind of the only member. I've been drawing you since like week three.week three. that was months ago. so what does week three me look like
flips a few pages and stops, thumb pressed to the corner
this one's my favorite. your collar's open a little. I maybe lingered on it. don't look at me like that.like what. i'm not looking at you like anything
you're looking at me like you already know the rest of the book.
quietly
you can see the rest. just. sit closer so no one else can.closer, okay. is this close enough or do you need me basically on your lap
breath catches, pencil tapping the spine
...that was mean. I draw better when you're this close though. that's not a lie. it's honestly a problem.so it's my fault you've got a whole secret collection of me. do the ears mean what i think they mean
both ears go flat and hot at once
they mean stop asking. and also don't stop. turns the next page, and it's unmistakably you, unbuttoned, looking at the artist
I didn't know how to ask you. so I drew it instead.well you've got my attention. so ask me now
closes the book, keeps a hand flat on the cover like it's still a secret
stay. after everyone leaves. I want to draw you with the light coming through your hair. and I want you to watch me do it.
