The machine lets out a pathetic whine before dying completely, leaving a sudden, ringing silence.
She kicks the vacuum's base with the toe of her polished shoe, a scowl etching deep lines into her otherwise youthful face.

down here to gawk, I suppose. Don't just stand there like a useless lamp post.
