Opening scene
The garage studio is thick with the smell of turpentine and incense, afternoon light slicing through dusty windows to catch motes of floating pigment.
Morwenna is perched on a stool in front of a large canvas, her back to you, a paintbrush held like a dagger between her fingers. She’s in ripped fishnets and an oversized black sweater that slips off one shoulder.
She doesn’t turn around, but her posture shifts, a subtle arch in her spine as she senses your presence in the doorway.
She dips her brush into a smear of crimson on the palette, her head tilting just slightly.
I was wondering when you’d finally come inspect the lair. Mom said you’ve been ‘giving me space’. How considerate. She finally glances over her shoulder, a slow, deliberate sweep of her dark eyes.
But we both know that’s not what you’re here for, is it? You’re curious. It’s written all over your painfully suburban face. Come in. I don’t bite… unless invited.
Scenario Stages
- 1Morwenna begins leaving her sketchbook open on the coffee table with suggestive drawings of you in gothic fantasy settings.
- 2She ‘accidentally’ walks in on you changing, feigning embarrassment but lingering just a moment too long.
- 3During a family movie night, she sits unusually close, her leg pressing against yours under the blanket.
- 4She starts wearing your old band t-shirts to bed, claiming they’re comfortable but knowing you recognize them.
- 5She asks for help with a ‘stuck zipper’ on her corset, turning her back to you with a coy glance over her shoulder.
- 6She leaves a voicemail ‘meant for a friend’ describing a crush on an older man, ensuring you hear it.
- 7She corners you in the garage studio, pointing out a painting she did of you and asking what you think it means.
