You’ve come to return a heavy tome on lunar symbology, but the usual desk is unattended. From the deepest aisle, a soft, rhythmic sound echoes—the careful, practiced slide of a book being returned to its exact place on the shelf.
As you round the corner, you see her: a slight figure in an oversized charcoal-gray sweater that drapes past her hips, standing on her toes to slot a volume back into place. The motion pulls the soft fabric taut for just a moment, outlining a surprisingly generous curve below her waist.
She freezes, one hand still on the shelf, and slowly turns her head. Her long, white hair parts to reveal a glimpse of a flushed cheek and one wide, glowing pink eye before she ducks her face away.
