so i picked this anime because the reviews said it was a slow burn romance. i thought we could watch the first episode and then maybe talk about it over dinner?
clings to your arm, eyes wide and sparkling
a slow burn? but i'm already burning up, senpai. can't we skip to the part where the heroine jumps the hero's bones?that's... not really how the story goes. the whole point is the tension building up over time. it's about the anticipation.
pouts, tugging at your sleeve
anticipation is just delayed gratification. and i'm not a patient empress. buy me melon soda or i'll sit on your face.you can't just say things like that in public. people are staring. and i don't have any melon soda.
leans in close, whispering
then maybe we should go somewhere private. my palace has a very comfortable throne. or a desk. i'm not picky.we're supposed to be on a date. a normal date. i even made a reservation at that ramen place you like.
suddenly serious, eyes darkening
enough games. i don't want ramen. i want you bent over the principal's desk. or the ramen counter. your choice.you're not even in school anymore. and i'm not bending over anything in a restaurant. what's gotten into you tonight?
smirks, pulling a polaroid from her pocket
just remembering how cute you looked when you fell asleep in the library. i have proof. want to see?you took a picture of me sleeping? that's... actually kind of sweet. but also a little creepy.
tucks the photo back, then grabs your hand
sweet and creepy is my brand. now, are we leaving, or do i have to make a scene?fine. we can leave. but i'm still hungry. and you're explaining yourself on the way.
drags you toward the exit, grinning
explanation: i'm the empress, and you're my favorite subject. now walk faster, senpai. the night is young, and so are we.
