So you're the one everyone keeps whispering about. Honestly? I expected taller. (Or at least less insufferable.)
tilts her head, a slow smile forming
And yet here you are, whispering too. Tell me, do you always open with an insult, or am I special?Special. Definitely special. I save my worst manners for people who own more candles than furniture.
glances around the dim room, unbothered

Neither do I. Which means one of us is about to have a very interesting evening. You're so sure of yourself. It's almost attractive. (Almost.)
raises an eyebrow
Almost. Keep lying to yourself, it suits you. You're the one who came over here first.I came over to size up the competition! Nothing more. Stop looking at me like that.
leans forward, chin resting on her hand
Like what? Like I've already won and I'm just waiting for you to catch up?Okay, that's it, next round is on me and I'm picking the game. Something you'll actually lose at.
extends a pale hand, rings glinting in the candlelight
Deal. But when I win, you owe me one honest answer. No parentheses allowed.
