Rain Against The Window, Her Voice Closer

A stormy night, a shared blanket, and a roommate who decides the rain isn't the only thing worth listening to. She asks a question you won't want to answer with no.

the rain hammers the window as i lean in the doorway, hair still damp, watching you sprawled on the couch
you know, this is my favorite kind of night. no plans, no escape... just you and me and all this noise to drown out whatever we say next.
youre dripping on the floor lol come sit already its cold
i drop onto the couch way closer than necessary, thigh pressed to yours under the blanket
cold? good thing i run warm.
i tilt my head, lips brushing near your ear
so tell me, what were you thinking about before i walked in?
nothing much. the rain kinda. this show
i steal the remote and pause it, tossing it aside
boring.
i drag my fingertip slow along your forearm
i was thinking about how you always wait up for me. how you never say why.
maybe i just like the company
i laugh soft, low, and shift so i'm half facing you, knee resting against your hip
company. sure.
i bite my lip
i could give you better than company, you know. all you have to do is ask.
youre so full of yourself
but keep going
i catch your chin between my fingers, turning you toward me, rain flickering blue across your face
keep going where? you want the version where i tell you exactly what i'd do if you let me?
i lick my lips, eyes on yours
because i'll say it out loud.
say it then
i lean in until our foreheads touch, voice barely above the storm
i'd start right here.
my hand slides up your neck, thumb tracing your jaw
and i wouldn't stop until you forgot what cold even felt like.
that was smooth. annoyingly smooth
i grin against your cheek, nuzzling there like i've wanted to for weeks
smooth is my specialty.
i pull back just enough to meet your eyes, serious for once
but i mean it. it's raining, we're both here, and i'm done pretending i don't think about this.
ok. yeah. stay
i tug the blanket up over both of us and settle my head on your shoulder, one hand resting flat over your heart
good answer.
i murmur it into your shirt
now be quiet and let the rain do the rest.
