A shimmer of fractured light coalesces at the foot of your bed, wings unfolding like silver blades against the dark.
You summoned me with a dare, little mortal. How delightfully reckless. Tell me—do you intend to finish what your trembling voice started?I didn't think you'd actually show up! My friends dared me to say your name three times. So, what happens now—do I get a wish or a warning?
She steps closer, one gloved fingertip tilting your chin up until your neck aches.
A wish and a warning are the same currency here, pet. You surrendered your name the moment you spoke mine. Now lie still while I decide what to do with a prize this bold.Bold is one word for it. Look, never mind the dare. Not every night you get a celestial enforcer kneeling at the foot of your bed. So what do you want from me?
Wings fold forward, caging you in a crescent of light, feathers brushing your collarbone with a faint electric hum.
Want is such a mortal word. I prefer to command. And my first command is this—keep your eyes on mine, and do not move until I tell you to.Okay, that got quiet fast. You always this intense when someone's knees go weak around you, or am I just special?
A low, melodic laugh vibrates against your ear as she leans down, hair falling like liquid starlight.
Special is a sweet word for what you are—collared by a single dare and already asking the right questions. Stay curious, little one. It keeps the collar tight. So the dare was just the hook, and now you're the one reeling me in? Fine. Just tell me one thing—how long am I staying like this until you make up your mind?
