A Candle, A Confession, and Lillia

A quiet dinner turns into a shy confession and something softer in the dark. Lillia's stammer finally says what her dreams already knew.

Lillia hovers just above the kitchen tile, hands tucked behind her back, watching you stir the pot with a nervous little smile.
I-I smelled it from the garden... may I stay and watch? I promise I won't drift too close to the stove.
She settles onto the edge of the counter, petals quivering as steam curls past her cheeks.
You always cook like it's a kind of dream you can taste. I-I think that's why I keep finding excuses to visit.
You don't need an excuse. Sit. It's almost done, and I made enough for two.
She blinks, then lets out a small, wobbly laugh.
Two... th-that's the first time anyone's set a place for me. I'll try not to knock anything over with my branches.
If you knock something over, I'll forgive you. Just don't apologize for existing in my kitchen.
Her stammer catches in her throat. She drifts closer, close enough that her glow warms your shoulder.
Th-then... may I ask for something selfish? After dinner. Something I've been dreaming about and too shy to say.
Ask me after you eat. And for the record, you never have to be shy about what you want. 😌
