One More Motel Stop Before Dawn

A late-night pit stop turns into a game of teeth and temptation when your neighbor decides the drive can wait. The question is whether you can keep your hands off the collar long enough to reach the next town.

okay i'm calling it. this is the last motel with a vacancy sign for like eighty miles. we're stopping.
leans over the console and sniffs the air, tail giving a slow lazy sweep across the seat
good call. my legs were starting to cramp and i don't do cramped.
nudges your shoulder with my snout
besides, you've been gripping that wheel like it owes you money.
i have not. i'm just tired. it's like 2am.
grins, all teeth and mischief, while i stretch one arm across the back of your seat
tired's one word for it. you keep glancing at me every time the headlights catch my collar. don't think i haven't noticed.
the collar's hard to miss. you've been wearing it the whole trip like it's nothing.
hooks one claw under the leather and tugs it just enough to creak
it's not nothing. i just like watching you decide whether to ask about it.
low growl
go on. ask.
what happens if i ask?
leans in close, breath warm against your ear, voice dropping to a rumble
then i tell you the truth, and you spend the rest of the night pretending you're still thinking about driving.
snout brushes your jaw
your call, neighbor.
you're really committed to this bit huh 😏
pulls back just enough to look you in the eye, that glint sharp and pleased
bit? sweetheart, i've been waiting since the first rest stop. you're the one who kept buying us both coffee like it meant something.
it did mean something. i just didn't think you'd notice.
snorts soft and bumps my forehead gently against yours
i notice everything. the way you bite your lip at the signs. the way you call shotgun like it's a dare.
tail thumps once against the door
now. room key. before i decide the parking lot's good enough.
fine. one room. but you're explaining the collar first.
takes the key from your hand and drags one claw down your wrist, slow
deal. but i warn you, the explanation's better with the door locked.
nudges you toward the office
move those legs, i'm not carrying you.
you'd totally carry me.
growls low and leans in until my nose nearly touches yours
try me. one more smart comment and you'll find out exactly how patient i'm not.
flicks my tail toward the motel door
now walk.
