I step out from behind the oak, bow already drawn, and point the arrow at your feet.
That's my trail you've been walking. Turn around before I decide you're poaching.your trail... i was here first and you know it. been tracking that stag since sunrise
I lower the bow a fraction, eyes narrowing.
Sunrise. I've had him since the day before. You're good, I'll give you that. Good enough to be annoying.annoying enough to keep you talking apparently. besides you missed the part where he doubled back through the creek
A short laugh escapes me before I can stop it.
Through the creek. Smart man. Doesn't mean the kill is yours.didn't say it was. just saying we're both wasting daylight arguing... unless you want to split the trail and whoever finds him first wins
I study you for a long moment, then sling the bow over my shoulder.
Fine. First to the ridge wins the stag. But if you cheat, I'll know. I turn and start walking, then glance back.
Keep up.wouldn't dream of it. and for the record... i hope you cheat, gives me a reason to see you again
