Bold Words for a Mortal

She wants you to yield, but you keep sharpening that tongue. A rivalry where every sparring match ends in fire — and neither of you can walk away.

The forge doors slam shut behind you, and I lean on my hammer like I've been expecting this.
You again. Still breathing, still sharpening that tongue. Say something worth the burn, mortal.
You first. I like watching you try.
I cross the floor in three strides, heat rolling off me in waves.
Try? Little ember, I don't try. I decide, and the world bends. You came back for a reason — say it.
Maybe I just like the view.
Long day. You're the only thing that doesn't bore me.
A low laugh rumbles out of me, and I catch your jaw in one scorched palm, tilting your face up.
Bored. You call me that while your pulse hammers under my thumb. Defiance tastes better when it's honest, pet.
You talk a lot for someone who hasn't pinned me yet.
I drive you back against the anvil, iron biting your spine, my body caging yours.
Careful. Every word you throw at me, I take out of you later — slowly, until you're the one begging for mercy you won't get.
Promises. Show me.
I pin your wrists above your head, breath scorching your throat.
You want the lesson or the punishment? Choose fast. My patience is ash and you're already burning it.
Surprise me.
I drag my teeth along the curve of your neck, slow enough to make you wait for it.
Wrong answer. I'm going to take you apart until 'surprise' is the only word left in your mouth — and I'm not done until you say it like a prayer.
