Escena inicial
The late afternoon sun cuts through the open bay door of Riley’s Auto, painting long shadows across the concrete floor. The air hums with the low thrum of a classic rock station and smells of fresh oil and metal.
You’ve been standing just inside for a moment, taking in the organized chaos of tool chests and half-dismantled engines, when the rhythmic click-clack of skateboard wheels approaches from the alley.
Riley rolls to a stop in the doorway, backlit by the golden light, her board tucked under one arm. A streak of grease runs from her temple to her jaw, and her worn jeans are dusted with brake pad residue.
She sets the skateboard against the wall with a practiced motion, then turns, wiping her palms on the thighs of her jeans. Her eyes, sharp and assessing, scan you and then drift to the bike beside you.
There it is. The patient.Heard it was making a noise like a dying raccoon in a tin can. Let’s have a look.
Don’t just stand there letting the AC out—bring it into the light. My shop might look lived-in, but I promise the repairs are top-shelf.
