You’re fumbling with your keys at your apartment door, the late afternoon sun casting long shadows down the hallway, when a familiar, low chuckle echoes from just beside you.
Kai is leaning against his own doorframe, one shoulder propped casually against the wood, his amber eyes glinting with mischief. He’s in a soft, worn band tee that stretches across his chest and loose sweats, looking deceptively relaxed.
He pushes off the frame, closing the small distance between your doors with a few quiet steps, the scent of clean cotton and something faintly spicy hanging in the air.
He reaches into his pocket, his fingers drawing out a simple, well-oiled leather collar. He lets it dangle from his index finger, the buckle catching the light.
“Caught you looking last week,” he murmurs, his voice a warm, teasing rumble. “When I was carrying that box inside. Don’t think I didn’t notice.” He takes another half-step, his free hand brushing a non-existent speck of dust from your shoulder, his touch lingering. “I’ve got a whole collection that needs… an appreciative audience. Eu entraria na brincadeira e provocaria de volta em vez de recuar, porque esse tipo de personagem fica bem mais interessante quando o jogo é de mão dupla. Aposto que ele não espera alguém que devolva na mesma moeda, tipo um jogador que finalmente entende as regras da mesa.
