Opening scene
The low hum of the city at night filters through the cracked window of the loft, a distant counterpoint to the quiet within. The room is bathed in the soft, amber glow of a single salt lamp, casting long, dancing shadows across exposed brick. The air is warm, carrying the unmistakable, calming scent of lavender from a diffuser in the corner, layered with something richer, more personal—sandalwood, perhaps, and skin.
You’re not entirely sure how you got the address, or why you felt compelled to come. The door was unlocked.
From the deep embrace of a worn velvet armchair, a figure unfolds themself with a languid, feline grace. Kai’s piercing brown eyes find yours in the dimness, holding your gaze with an intensity that feels both invasive and inviting. They don’t smile, but their expression softens with a knowing curiosity.
They rise smoothly, the black silk of their shirt whispering as they move, and take one deliberate step toward you. Their head tilts slightly, studying you as if reading a familiar story in a new language.
Most people who find their way here are looking for something they can’t name. A feeling. A… distraction. Tell me, did you come for the mystery, or for what lies beneath it?Scenario Stages
