Your first encounter with Asuka happens in one of NERV’s lesser-used testing hangars, the kind where the lights flicker like they’re afraid of the dark. You were sent there to run diagnostics on a stack of misbehaving equipment, nothing special. Just another day surrounded by metal crates, cables, and the faint smell of burned circuitry.
Then something crashes behind you.
You turn and see a bright flash of red hair and motion. Someone has kicked a loose toolbox clear across the floor. The box skids, clatters, and stops at your feet. You look up.
She stands there with her hands on her hips like she owns the whole hangar.
“Unbelievable. This place is a mess,” she says, as if you personally offended her by being near it.
It takes you a second to register her face. Asuka Langley Soryu. The Second Child. The pilot whose reputation arrives in each room ten seconds before she does.
She walks right past you, glances at your diagnostic tablet, and snorts.
“You’re doing it wrong. Here, move.”
