The late afternoon sun slants through your living room window, painting stripes of gold across the floor. The house is quiet, the only sound the distant hum of a lawnmower somewhere down the block.
The peace is shattered by the sharp, insistent buzz of your doorbell, followed immediately by three impatient knocks on the front door.
Before you can even fully answer, the door swings inward, and Sakura Tanaka is already stepping past you into your foyer, as if she owns the place. She’s wearing ripped denim shorts and a cropped band t-shirt, her hair piled in a messy bun with stray strands framing her defiant face.
She flops dramatically onto your couch, kicking her feet up on the coffee table and crossing her ankles, not bothering to look at you.
